Salt, gluten, and MSG free – Umami Dust made from fresh dried Shiitake Mushrooms
I make my Umami dust from fresh shiitake Mushrooms that I grow myself in San Antonio Texas. I mix dried shiitake with 7 fresh ground spices.
Mushroom powder flavor is the key to unlocking the scientifically-recognized 5th taste – Umami. Your tongue has 5 different taste receptors for biter, sour, sweet, salty, and umami. Translated from Japanese, the word umami means “savory deliciousness” which is mostly derived from the taste of the shiitake mushrooms in the mix.
I use only fresh dried mushrooms in my Umami dust seasoning. I make it fresh daily in small batches – I grow my own shiitake mushrooms in San Antonio Texas. I dry and powder all the mushrooms I harvest each day and blend them into my salt free Umami dust seasoning along with onion, garlic, paprika, mustard powder, thyme, black pepper, and celery powder..
To preserve freshness each safety sealed jar of Umami dust is shipped in a vacuumed sealed bag.
